Green Dreams: Gardens - response
Green worlds which border the
outside we want to run away from, man-made objects which seem to be so
naturally encased in this step off into
paradise – these are the worlds described and justified in their own
right in Green Dreams: Gardens. There was a lot of running off on tangents, and
referencing/comparing places without photograph notes, or even a simple, concise
explanations we won’t get lost in as we’re attempting to draw conclusion from
the convolution. The writer is speaking about how gardens are thought to be
natural by many, but are man-made. Oftentimes the creator of a given
garden seeks to reference or even sometimes mimic or replicate a place in the
real world. They’re havens which are the
result of man, that someone poured their heart and soul into, yet are not
entirely considered to be a piece of art. For some reason, there are
comparisons drawn between landscape painting and garden creation. It isn’t
correct to pit the two against each other though, because the creators are of a
different mindset and were working to achieve something completely different.
There is not any rationale behind comparing two piece which are different in
nature, simply because they depict the same thing. Nonetheless, it is very interesting
to be reminded that some people are so passionate about the art of landscaping, even to the
point of writing about it.
